Art Therapy and the participation in the creative process is applicable to anyone, any age, culture, ability or disability. There are no boundaries. No prior art experience is required. This is though, an adult Retreat. What participants gain through Create and Transform is a renewed sense of creativity, playfulness, a sense of personal inquiry, discovery and self-expression. Through participation in the creative process, one is able to express thoughts, ideas, feelings, emotions and dreams, visually through art-making, through word and verbally and through sharing. Both personally and professionally, one will be more receptive and provided with the skills for expressing ideas and the communication of emotions and feelings.
This Retreat is different since it is the only Retreat facilitated by a Registered Art Therapist, providing a nurturing, supportive environment for the self- reflection and expression of one’s emotions, thoughts and feelings. This Retreat provides many opportunities for participants to self-interpret personal images, which assists in gaining insights to one’s inner life. Participants will be provided with art journals which they themselves create, which they then take with them in order to continue this journey. For participants who have the desire to continue this process, participation in future Retreats is encouraged, along with continued personal self- expression in whatever form one is attracted to.
